“THE COLLECTION THAT INSPIRED FROM A SHELVED BOOK”
Designer Mert Erkan has presented his sixth fashion show on Wednesday, October 9 at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul. He was especially captivated by the powerful female silhouette that could stand on her own feet.
Mert Erkan, who participated in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Istanbul for the sixth time in which fashion enthusiasts gathered, presented his Spring / Summer 2020 collection inspired by the dried carnations contained in a book that he had shelved many years ago.
THE WOMAN WHO REFERED TO THE PAST
In his Spring / Summer 2020 collection, Mr. Erkan focused on white, beige, lilac, flower pots and purple colors for his female silhouette and used the concepts of definite and reference to the past. Voluminous shoulder and sleeve details, dirty sewn and interpreted strips, elliptic shaped closures and flyaway circle skirts were included in the key details of this collection. He has created a bridge of connection with perfection and power with using of avant-garde belts, chains and colorful feather earrings.
Famous models such as Derya Eksioglu, Utku Aygan and Melike Yalnız which the winner of the Best Model of Turkey contest with the other famous models such as Türkan Geyik, Açelya Kartal and Hande Taşkın took part in this runway-show.
